Products & Services

Yes! SoOPAK is committed to sustainability. Our packaging materials often contain recycled content—especially Kraft and standard white paperboard. All unprinted materials are 100% recyclable. Plus, we manufacture in Canada, using locally sourced paperboard to reduce environmental impact.

Print quality is sharp across both, but colors appear differently:

  • Kraft: Earthy background affects vibrancy—ideal for bold, dark designs.
  • White SBS: Best for bright, full-color graphics requiring true color accuracy.

Absolutely. SoOPAK provides custom corrugated or paperboard inserts for product protection and presentation. Minimum order is 5,000 units. Email sales@soopak.com to get started.

Yes. We offer short-run test orders (1–10 boxes) so you can review size, structure, and graphics before large-scale production. Expedited options available.

General Knowledge

Yes. In addition to our extensive box style library, our structural engineers can design fully custom packaging solutions to fit your product and brand.

Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Avoid stacking vertically to prevent creases. This preserves structure and print quality.

Not exactly. Digital screens use RGB, but printed materials use CMYK. Expect slight variation. For exact results, we recommend requesting a physical proof.

Use high-resolution files (300 DPI preferred). We’ll provide a proof for approval. Low-res artwork may look pixelated in print. Ask us for a sample if unsure.

Send .AI or .PDF files via email. Use WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive for large files. Your Product Specialist will confirm receipt.

A dieline is a digital blueprint for your custom box. Once your order is confirmed, our team creates and sends you a dieline based on your specs.

Pre-press is the stage (or process) in which digital files are prepared for the printing press. Pre-press turnaround times typically vary depending on the complexity of the project. Prepress or make-ready tasks will vary depending on file complexity and printing method but some may include:

  • double-checking fonts
  • making sure graphics are in the right format
  • preparing camera ready artwork
  • creating color separations,
  • adding crop marks
  • trapping (done to prevent color gaps when colors touch in a layout)
  • imposition (putting pages in the right order for printing)
  • producing prepress proofs
  • obtaining film for creating printing plates

It can take as fast as several hours or as long as several days.

  • Digital: Fast, affordable for small runs, slightly lower quality.
  • Offset: Best-in-class quality, efficient for large runs, requires setup/tooling fees.

PMS (Pantone Matching System) ensures exact color matching across print runs. Ideal for brands with strict color standards. Extra fees may apply.

Guides & Best Practices

Lithographic printing uses metal plates and CMYK ink for precise, consistent results. It’s the gold standard for high-volume retail packaging.

CMYK is the standard for physical printing. RGB (used for screens) often appears more vibrant, but may shift when converted. Always design in CMYK for color accuracy.

  • Format: .AI or .PDF
  • Color: CMYK only
  • Bleed: 1/8"
  • Fonts: Outlined
  • Images: Embedded, 300 DPI minimum We do not modify artwork—ensure all guidelines are met before submission.

Industry standard is internal dimensions: Length x Width x Depth. If unsure, contact your SoOPAK Product Specialist for guidance.

Recycled paperboard comes in various forms:

  • Clay Coated White Back (CCWB)
  • Clay Coated Kraft Back (CCKB)
  • Clay Coated Light Back (CCLB)
  • Clay Coated News Back (CCNB)
  • Bending Chip Board
  • CMYK (Process Color): Uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks to reproduce full-color images. Standard for most packaging and offset printing.
  • PMS (Pantone Matching System): Uses pre-mixed spot colors for exact color matching. Ideal for brand consistency but incurs additional costs.
